GhIS delegation meets with ECG leadership in Accra.

On July 2, 2025, a high-level delegation from the Ghana Institution of Surveyors (GhIS), led by President Surv. Kofi Obeng-Ayirebi, met with top officials of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) to discuss areas of mutual interest and strengthen collaboration.

Key Discussion Areas

The meeting focused on several strategic areas, including:

  • Capacity Building: Training in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), value-for-money audits, procurement, data collection, and analysis for development.
  • Professional Development Support: ECG’s continued commitment to supporting GhIS members through subscription payments and conference participation.
  • Collaboration in Expertise Areas: Joint efforts in surveying, GIS, and engineering fields to support ECG operations.
  • GIS Development: Formation of a joint committee to assist ECG in establishing and operationalizing its GIS unit to meet evolving industry demands.

This engagement offered GhIS professional members working within ECG a renewed sense of belonging and opened up future opportunities for collaboration.
